Maserati S.p.A. and MNA have determined that the above-described vehicles were manufactured with certain optional 21 inch tires (OPT 6H6 & 1LS) and may have incorrect inflation pressure indicated on the tire placard for the maximum load capacity per axle. Description of Vehicle Safety Recall #432 Maserati S.p.A. and MNA have determined that the above described vehicles were manufactured with a tire label that lists the incorrect pressures for the optional 21 inch tires. Out of an abundance of caution, Maserati has decided to initiate this Voluntary Safety Recall #432 to replace the Tire Pressure Label (Fig.1) with a new Label that has the correct pressures listed and to update the “Vehicle Configuration” file to correct the TPMS thresholds in the Instrument cluster with the new values. The remedy is to replace the placard (Fig.1) with the corrected labels and update the Tire Pressure Monitoring System on the affected vehicles. The remedy will be performed free of charge to the vehicle owner. MNA will pay you for the costs and labor necessary to remedy this recall campaign. The necessary components for this recall are currently available to dealers, and owners will be directed to contact their dealers for repairs. Check that the vehicle is included in this Recall Campaign, and that the repair has not been previously performed. 2. Locate the Tire pressure label inside the driver’s door opening, see Fig.1. – Remove the label. NOTE: You can also use a heat gun to remove the label (not mandatory). 3. Carefully clean the application area. 4. Attach the new label in the same position. 5. Write the new “Vehicle Configuration” using the Maserati Diagnosi. 6. The recall procedure is now complete.. Please only order if you currently have a car on your lot or if you have scheduled the customer into your workshop for repair. The process to request a label is as follows: 1. This Notice Applies To Your Vehicle, Vehicle Identification Number: Dear Maserati Customer:
This notification is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Maserati S.p.A. and Maserati North America, Inc. (MNA), have decided that certain 2021 Quattroporte Trofeo and Ghibli Trofeo vehicles fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) Number 110, “Tire selection and rims”. FMVSS No. 110 requires manufacturers to provide inflation tire pressure for the maximum load capacity per axle on the placard. The inflation pressure listed on the tire placards of certain 2021 Model Year Quattroporte V8 Trofeo and Ghibli V8 Trofeo vehicles are below the required value.
Maserati S.p.A. and MNA have determined that the above-described vehicles were manufactured with certain optional 21 inch tires that may have incorrect inflation pressure indicated on the tire placard for the maximum load capacity.
If the vehicle is fully loaded and the tires are inflated to the placard pressures, then unexpected handling characteristics or sudden air pressure loss could result, which can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning.
Your Maserati Dealer will replace the placard labels with the corrected labels and update the Tire Pressure Monitoring System, free of charge. Since your vehicle is among those that may be affected by the above condition, we ask you to contact any Authorized Maserati Dealer in order to arrange for this recall action to be performed to your vehicle. The repair will take approximately 0.5 hours to complete

SAFETY RECALL NOTICE

Date: August 13, 2021
To: All U.S. Maserati Dealers
Subject: Safety Recall 432 – MY 2021 Maserati Ghibli V8 Trofeo and Quattroporte V8 Trofeo vehicles.
Effective immediately, the vehicles listed in the attachment must not be delivered to customers. The subject vehicles are included in a voluntary safety recall related to vehicles equipped with certain optional 21 inch tires that may have incorrect inflation pressure indicated on the placard for the maximum load capacity per axle.
Vehicles in the recall will require the placards will be replaced with corrected labels and update the TPMS. Maserati intends to notify owners on or before 09/23/2021 to schedule appointments to have their vehicles fixed.
The remedy for this condition is currently available. Dealers will be notified of the launch of this safety recall by way of established communication methods. This recall is estimated to launch in August 2021.
Please be reminded that it is a violation of Federal law for you to deliver a new motor vehicle covered by this notification under a sale or lease until the defect is remedied. Violation of this requirement by could result in a civil penalty of up to $21,000 per vehicle. You must correct all vehicles in your new vehicle inventory before delivery.
